The ONE 168: Denver card was already looking stacked to the gills, but now ONE Championship fans have had their prayers answered further.

When the world’s largest martial arts organisation returns to the U.S. on Saturday, 7th September, a dream fight between two Muay Thai legends is set to bolster the lineup when Liam Harrison meets Seksan Or Kwanmuang in a 140-pound catchweight contest inside Denver, Colorado’s Ball Arena.

It’s been 20 months since fans last saw Harrison in action. The British striker challenged former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama for the throne at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022 and suffered a devastating knee injury at the hands of the Thai that has kept him on the sidelines.

Before that fateful evening, the 117-fight veteran had been on the rise in ONE, having put impressive performances together in his battle against Mohammed Bin Mahmoud and the 2022 Muay Thai Fight Of The Year with Muangthai PK Saenchai.

Having gone through a lengthy rehabilitation process, “Hitman” is now ready to return, and he’ll get a chance to dust off the cobwebs before meeting Seksan when he makes his way back to the Circle for a meeting with Katsuki Kitano at ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga on Saturday, 8th June.

While Harrison has an active summer approaching, his well-matched foe must bide his time. But chances are, he’ll be happy to do so after his recent run of activity in ONE Championship.

Seksan burst onto the scene in January 2023 and quickly made his name known in the ONE’s Friday Fights series.

Over 15 months, he racked up eight consecutive victories and multiple highlight-reel performances to earn a lucrative US$100,000 contract to compete on the promotion’s biggest stage.

The Thai superstar became a fan-favourite after clashes with talents like Tyson Harrison, Amir Naseri, and Nathan Bendon. But his winning streak ended when he fell to a unanimous decision loss against newcomer Yutaro Asahi at ONE Friday Fights 58 earlier this month.

Nonetheless, notching up a record of 8-1 in just over a year shouldn’t be overlooked. And the multiple World Titles Seksan collected before joining ONE makes him an undeniable legend of Muay Thai.

So, when he and Harrison meet at ONE 168 this September, fans have every right to expect a fight-of-the-year candidate to unfold before their eyes.

The thrilling event already featured multiple World Title fights. But with this and the recently announced champion-versus-champion battle for the ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title tilt between flyweight titleholder Mikey Musumeci and reigning king Kade Ruotolo, there may not be a single moment available for the watching world to blink when it goes down.
