Ian Machado Garry already has his sights set on his next opponent, following his unanimous decision win against Michael Venom Page at UFC 303.

The 26-year-old moved to 15-0-0 and claimed arguably the biggest scalp of his career, in the shape of the former Bellator title challenger. It looked as thought it was going to be a quick night work for ‘The Future’ when he tied up a tight rear naked choke.

Although being slightly upset he couldn’t get the contest finished in the first round, Machado Garry was very happy with his performance. Speaking to the media, post fight, he said:

“I'm f**king pi**ed that I didn’t land that submission in the first round. I'm livid. But you know what? I showed so much evolution today. I snake charmed a snake charmer. In my mind. I made him frustrated. He likes people to do that dance with him, to move, to keep that flow with that rhythm. And he works well off that rhythm, that timing.

“I hit him with stealth mode. I walked him down. I prayed him. You know, he didn't have a lot of success, I didn't have a lot of success on the feet. I wobbled him in the second round with a right hand. I seen his eyes go and I was like, Patience. I've been saying all week. I said it to Damon Ed, Diego.

“I said to everyone on my team. The key to beating Michael Venom page was patience, because he will give me the gaps and he will make the mistakes because I will make him make the mistakes.”

The win is arguably the biggest of Machado Garry’s and looking ahead, the Irishman is looking to make the walk on the same card that will mark the return of Conor McGregor. There is no concrete date set in place for ‘The Notorious’’ return but Machado Garry is going to stay active and look to even has a potential opponent in mind.

“I'll be there. I'm going to have a chat with Hunter and Dana later on to figure out what's next. There's some big names. There's some cool matchups. You know, this Shavkat 18-0 undefeated, I'd love to get my hands on him. I've trained him. I have nothing but respect for the guy, but I want to be the first guy to take his 0 and I know I can do it.

“I've just beat the fastest guy in the division, other than me when it comes to striking and skill set, I can do it. When it comes to grappling, we've seen the growth that I have. I'm excited to go out there and proved against someone like him.”
