The number 1 ranked OKTAGON Light Heavyweight will take on the number three ranked when Pavol Langer meets Will Fleury at OKTAGON 62.
The card is set to take place at the Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt, Germany on October 12.
Both men have been in fine form of late, with Fleury currently riding a 6 fight unbeaten streak and Langer having went 4-1 in his last 5, with his only loss coming at the hands of the formidable Karlos Vemola.
After making a big name for himself on Bellator, Fleury explored free agency for a while, before signing with OKTAON at the start of 2024.
In his promotional debut, the Irishman faced Daniel Skvorand dominated the contest from the very first bell, to tying up the arm triangle and getting the tap in the second round.
By contrast, the bout will mark Langer's 11th in the OKTAGON cage. Having first fought for the promotion in 2016, the Slovakian has more or less remained with OKTAGON, having only 1 fight else where.
Towards the end of 2022 and the start of 2023, Langer built a three fight win streak, with victories over Mraz Avdoyan, Rafaek Xavier and Alexander Poppeck. This then led to him challenging for the title at OKTAGON 47. The champion, Vemola came flying out of the gates and just seven seconds into the bout landed a clean left hook to the chin of Langer, rendering him unconscious.
Taking to social media, Fleury delivered a short, but extremely clear, message to Langer ahead of the pair meeting. He said:
"How's things Pavol?
"Fair f*cks to you, embracing the challenge, respect, good man, god loves a trier and all that sh*t. Unfortunately, you're f**ked. Best of luck."
OKTAGON 62 will take place inside the Frankfurt football stadium so the promotion will without doubt look to add many big names to the card. Already confirmed for the fight night is Christian Eckerlin taking on Christian Jungwirth and Max Coga is set to face Antun Racic.
