Shara “Bullet” Magomedov believes he is ready for a shot at UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland and says he would welcome the opportunity to prove he belongs at the top of the division.

Magomedov (17-1 MMA,6-1 UFC), who improved his winning streak to two with a unanimous decision victory over Michel Pereira at UFC Baku in June, made the comments during a fan Q&A ahead of this weekend’s UFC Abu Dhabi event.

Although the Dagestani striker is not currently ranked in the UFC’s middleweight division, he made it clear that he would have no hesitation in accepting a title fight if the opportunity arose.

“You know what? I'm ready to do it today, tomorrow,” Magomedov said. “If they give me an opportunity, I will show you that Sean Strickland is not as much of a beast as everybody thinks he is. I will show that my level is bigger than Sean Strickland's.”

Magomedov has continued to build momentum in the UFC with his recent performances, and his latest victory over Pereira further strengthened his case as a rising contender at 185 pounds.

While a championship opportunity appears unlikely in the immediate future given his current position outside the rankings, Magomedov has made it clear that he believes he is already capable of dethroning the reigning champion should the UFC decide to make the matchup.
