Top prospects James Hendin and Mochamed Machaev will meet in a Featherweight bout on the colossal OKTAGON 62 on October 12.

The card will take place inside the Frankfurt football stadium in front of 58,000 MMA fans, with the card already looking extremely stacked prior to the addition of Hendin and Machaev clash.

In the main event, OKTAGON Pound for pound king Patrik Kincl will put his Middleweight title on the line against the ever-dangerous Kerim Engizek whilst ninth and tenth ranked Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth battle it out in a Welterweight contest and the number one ranked Light Heavyweight Pavol Langer takes on number three ranked Will Fluery, in other notable bouts set to feature on the card.

After an extensive run with Cage Warriors, which saw him compete for the title and face many of the top names in the promotion’s 145lbs division, Hendin parted ways with them and signed with OKTAGON months later. In his promotional debut, Hendin faced Jakub Dohnal at OKTAGON 56. It was pure domination from the North East based man as long as the contest lasted, using his superior wrestling to nullify any of Dohnal’s attacks. After getting the bout to the floor once more in the second round, Hendin reigned down viscous elbows and got the finish with just 15 seconds of the round left. The victory extended his current win streak to three. After the win, Hendin found himself in ranked number 6 in the OKTAGON Featherweight rankings, one of the most stacked divisions in the promotion.

Machaev will make the walk to the OKTAGON cage for the third time, following a run in the promotion’s TipSport Gamechanger tournament. In the opening round, Machaev faced UFC veteran Makwan Amirkhani and handed the Finland native his third loss in as many contests with a third round TKO stoppage. In the next round, the surging 24-year-old faced the vast more experienced Acoidan Duque.

Duque’s experience played a pivotal role in contests and Machaev was handed only the second loss of his professional career. Looking to bounce back to winning ways, if Machaev can get his hand raised against Hendin, he too will likely enter the upper echelon of the Featherweight division.
