ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion Stamp Fairtex may be out of action at the moment, but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten to keep an eye on what’s happening in her division.

A pivotal atomweight MMA battle will go down this Saturday, 7th September, when Stamp’s previous foe Alyse Anderson meets Brazilian upstart Victoria Souza inside Denver, Colorado’s Ball Arena at ONE 168: Denver, and the three-sport superstar is intrigued to see how it plays out.

“I think it’ll be fun. Alyse is motivated because of the defeat, while Victoria is determined because she’s still a newer competitor. It’ll be an interesting matchup,” Stamp analysed.

“I think Alyse has advantages in strength and speed. Victoria is really good at grappling. I think those are their main strengths.”

Souza came good in her last outing against Itsuki Hirata at ONE 167 this past June. she shocked the world and made a statement by locking in a guillotine in the first round to get back in the winners’ column.

Her unorthodox repertoire makes her a threat to every woman in the division, but Stamp knows firsthand just how dangerous Anderson can be.

The pair squared off in May 2023 at ONE Fight Night 10. And though the atomweight MMA queen walked away with the win after a devastating liver kick felled “Lil’ Savage” in the second round, she feels she got a sense of the American’s wrestling acumen.

As such, Stamp believes Anderson will have the edge over Souza this weekend.

“I think Alyse can win, and that she’ll be able to dominate the fight. She lost last time, and that should motivate her to win. She’s taller, so she should have a big advantage from longer range,” she said.

“I was a bit nervous when I faced her. She looked tough and jacked. I think she’s strong and fast. She’s also really good at striking.”
