Ahead of tomorrow night’s Cage Warriors 177, all athletes took the scales in Manchester this morning and all hit their contracted weight limits.

The ‘Unplugged’ card is one of two, back-to-back shows the promotion have in Manchester this weekend, with Cage Warriors 178 going down just 24 hours later. The second of the two shows will see Featherweight standout, Luke Riley, headline his first Cage Warriors show as he squares off against Alexandre Junior.

Cage Warriors 177 main event was initially meant to see Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion, James Sheehan, look to make the first defence of his 170lbs title against Giannis Bachar. However, last week it was announced that the champion had been forced to withdraw from the bout due to an undisclosed injury.

The main event now sees Chasen Blair making the trip over the Pacific Ocean once more, as he takes on promotional newcomer Florin Pîrtea. Blair always entertains, with only two of his seven bouts thus far making it out of the first round. Pîrtea will be wanting a statement win in his promotional debut as the Romanian returns to action for the first time since 2022.

Rhi-Rhi Hudson also returns to the cage, after a seriously impressive professional debut at Cage Warriors 174. She takes on the in-form Alish Smith.

It is unlikely that the judges will be needed when Angus Hewett and Michael Tchamou clash in their Middleweight bout. Collectively, the pair have made the walk 12 times, with neither man ever going the distance.

The card will also feature the exciting Irish prospect Solomon Simon. In his four wins, the Team KF man has picked up two submissions and two stoppages. He takes on former Featherweight title challenger Orlando Wilson-Prins, who returns to the cage for the first time since his losing out on the belt to Harry Hardwick at Cage Warriors 172.
