The prelim card for UFC 308 featured some impressive finishes but one fight was always going to steal this portion of the card.

It will take some effort from the fighters that are set to compete on the main card to take the fight of the night bonus away from Mateusz Rębecki and Myktybek Orolbai.

The two men met at a catchweight and it was quickly apparent that they did not come to have a strategic and mid-paced contest.

They both connected big shots in the first round and before the second got underway, there was questions whether Orolbai would be allowed to continue after his eye was nearly completely shut.

The doctor gave his nod of approval but this was just the start of the absolute mayhem that would take place in the next two rounds.

Both men continued to do significant damage to one another but it was in the third round where it escalated to another level entirely.

Rębecki dropped his man hard and appeared to have him just one strike from being out of the fight but the referee allowed it to continue with Orolbai still being responsive.

After surviving this massive barrage, Orolbai was able to turn the tide as the two exhausted and bloody men somehow went the distance.

The outcome went the way of the Polish fighter who took a split decision result after winning the first and final rounds on two of the scorecards.

Ultimately, neither man really deserved to lose this fight after the incredible heart and durability that Orolbai showed to stay in the fight and continue pushing forward.

Fans certainly won't be forgetting this incredible battle of wills in Abu Dhabi in a hurry after the efforts of both men.
