Levels Fight League crowned a new light heavyweight champion in their latest event hosted in Amsterdam.
LFL 14 featured a grand prix at 205-pounds with two semi-finals earlier on in the night giving way to a vacant title fight in the main event.
Both the semi-final match-ups featured upsets as the experienced Lee Chadwick got the decision win over former Cage Warriors title challenger Matthew Byfield.
On the other side of the bracket, late replacement Yusup Magomedov stopped Leandro Ataides in the third round to set up a final that not many saw coming.
In the end, it was Chadwick who emerged victorious as the new LFL light heavyweight champion.
His opponent had a record of just 3-0 compared to his 29-19-1 which allowed the well-travelled veteran to grind out another decision win.
In the co-main event, Duane van Helvoirt made quick work of Weber Netto by securing a beautiful triangle choke submission in the first round.
Nika Tchikhinachvili also won his fight against Pawel Klimas via a triangle choke, earning his fourth consecutive win in the promotion.
Some vicious ground and pound saw Dayche Coeriel stop Alan Santos in the opening round whilst elsewhere on the card, former UFC fighter Tom Breese returned to the promotion where he has had great success in the past, beating Renato Rangel via unanimous decision.
There was also another win under the LFL banner for rising Irish star Tiarnan Loughran who had to dig deep to overcome a difficult replacement opponent in Ramzan Jandarbaev.
The tournament may not have lived up to what you would want from a grand prix but unexpected results are always likely to happen in these kinds of formats.
Some great finishes and important wins helped to add some highlights to the card.
