Two world championship clashes in MMA have been announced as your main and co-main event for the upcoming ONE Fight Night 27 card.

ONE Championship's first major event of 2025 is set to the kick the year off with a bang by delivering a highly anticipated headliner in the featherweight division.

On Friday, January 10, China's Tang Kai will put his title on the line for a second time when he comes up against the undefeated Akbar Abdullaev.

Both men are yet to taste defeat under the ONE banner with Tang winning eight in a row since signing back in 2019.

In his latest outings, the 28-year old put on a dominant performance to dethrone the champion Thanh Le at ONE 160 in August of 2022.

After Le bounced back by securing the interim title, they met against at ONE 166 earlier this year where this time around, the champion made a real statement by finishing his challenger in the third round.

In Akbar Abdullaev, he faces an incredibly dangerous contender who has won all three of his fights with the promotion via finish including a knockout win against Halil Amir last time out.

His previous two fights in ONE both ended in less than a minute, putting the 27-year old on the map as a rising star in the MMA world.

Both men are likely facing their toughest and most dangerous opponents to date which should make for a great contest early next year.

In the co-main event, Denice Zamboanga will face Alyona Rassohyna for the interim atomweight world championship.

Zamboanga was set to challenge Stamp Fairtex for the world championship at ONE 167 earlier this year until the Thai star suffered a severe knee injury.

As a result, this fight was booked for ONE Fight Night 25 in October but an injury to Zamboanga pushed it back to the newly rescheduled date of January 10.
