Two-weight ONE MMA World Champion Christian Lee is just weeks away from his first fight in two years, and he’s planning on making a statement against undefeated star Alibeg Rasulov.
Lee defends the ONE Lightweight MMA World Title against the fierce Turk at ONE Fight Night 26 on Saturday, 7th December, inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.
“The Warrior” holds 16 finishes in ONE Championship – more than any competitor in the promotion’s history – and he plans to boost that number by stopping Rasulov early in his return to action.
“Like always, my goal is to go out there and get a first-round finish,” Lee said.
“I think I could take him down and submit him in one round, and that’s not to be cocky at all. I trust in the training that I put in the last two years.”
The Singaporean-American powerhouse hasn’t competed since ONE on Prime Video 4 in November 2022. That evening, he dispatched former welterweight MMA king Kiamrian Abbasov in a dramatic comeback to become a two-weight World Champion.
Lee took time away from competition in December of that year following the death of his little sister, Victoria.
Though not active in ONE Championship, the 26-year-old kept his body and mind sharp, and he is confident that will be reflected in his performance at ONE Fight Night 26 next month.
“I feel like a much better fighter now, today, than the last time I [competed]. I wasn’t just taking the last two years off, resting. I’ve been training harder than ever, and I feel like I’m in the best shape that I’ve ever been in physically and mentally,” Lee said.
“I feel the most prepared that I’ve been before a fight in a long time. I’m really looking forward to getting back in there.”
