2024 has been a huge year for the best fighter in OKTAGON right now, Losene Keita.
"Black Panther" won four fights in a row this year but it was his final victory at OKTAGON 65 this past weekend which took things to new heights.
Keita took home all the marbles in his main event rematch with Ronald Paradeiser at the O2 Arena in Prague on Sunday night.
He put on a devastating performance to stop "Rony" in the second round and in the process, he won the lightweight title, the Tipsport Gamechanger Tournament and solidified his status as the promotion's top pound-for-pound fighter.
The two-weight champion spoke in his post-fight interview with Bryan Lacey about being grateful for the opportunities that OKTAGON has provided him with:
"Bryan, it mean a lot to me, I don't know what to say and also, I think OKTAGON deserve more credit because without them, I knew I was a beast but like I said, somebody needed to open the door for me and this giant and this handsome guy, they open the cage for me Bryan, you know."
Keita was joined in the cage by the friend who initially persuaded him to take up mixed martial arts as he reflected on everything that he has been able to accomplish.
The new champion also showed respect to his opponent who coming into this fight, has won eight fights in a row to bounce back from his loss to Keita in February of 2022.
"I don't know what to say. Rony, I don't want to take anything away from him. He's a great competitor, he's a good fighter. 27 years of age, bro, when I knew I want to fight Rony, I work my a** off, you know that because it was getting boring. But Rony, I said no way, rematch, this guy cannot beat me. Impossible."
