ONE Championship returns to Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand this Friday/Saturday for the promotion's first major event of 2025.

At ONE Fight Night 27, the main event boasts one of the very best MMA contests that ONE has ever matched.

Tang Kai will look to defend the ONE featherweight world championship when he faces the undefeated challenger, Akbar Abdullaev.

The 29-year old champion is undefeated in ONE with eight consecutive wins and five knockouts including back-to-back victories over Thanh Le.

His next opponent has a pro record of 11-0 with a 100% finishing rate with three of those victories taking place under the ONE banner.

Abdullaev's latest win over Halil Amir last year really sent a statement and this fight should not be missed by MMA fans across the board.

A second title fight in mixed martial arts is set for this card as Denice Zamboanga takes on Alyona Rassohyna for the interim atomweight world championship.

The winner will seemingly go on to face Stamp Fairtex in a title unification clash once the Thai superstar has returned from injury.

Three other significant MMA bouts are booked for the card with match-ups that could shake up their respective divisions.

Uzbekistan's Sanzhar Zakirov looks to earn his fourth consecutive win in the promotion when he faces ONE veteran Tatsumitsu Wada at strawweight.

Aaron Canarte looks to earn his first win in the promotion but just like his assignments against Akbar Abdullaev and Shamil Gasanov, he draws another tough test in Mongolia's Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu.

Another atomweight contest is also set for the card as rising star Chihiro Sawada looks to record her fourth win in a row since signing with the promotion when she takes on established competitor Meng Bo.

The co-main event also features a name that will be familiar to MMA fans as former bantamweight champion John Lineker looks to continue his recent foray into Muay Thai when he takes on fellow knockout artist Kulabdam.

ONE Fight Night 27 is set to air in the early hours of Saturday (January 11) morning for UK fans via Sky Sports.
