The official weigh-ins took place for UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Almabayev (ESPN+) at the event’s host hotel in Las Vegas today.
Among those weighing in were flyweights Manel Kape (20-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) and Asu Almabayev (21-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who will square off in the event’s 5-round headline fight ina fight that could have title implications at 125 lbs.
Middleweights Cody Brundage (10-6 MMA, 4-5 UFC) and Julian Marquez (9-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC), who are set to compete in the co-main event, also made weight without any problems. All the key fighters at the top end of the card successfully made weight.
However, there were a few setbacks on the undercard. Lucas Almeida came in overweight for his featherweight prelim bout with Danny Silva, and Luana Carolina was unable to weigh in for her scheduled women’s flyweight fight against Montana De La Rosa due to weight management issues, resulting in the cancellation of the matchup.
