ONE Fight Night 29: Rodrigues vs. McManamon is just days away, and ONE Championship has another stacked card of Muay Thai, MMA, and submission grappling action in store.
All eyes will undoubtedly be on the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title showdown between divisional queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues and British-Irish debutant Marie McManamon in the main event of the thrilling show, which is set to go down inside Bangkok, Thailand’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium this Saturday, 8th March.
However, there is an abundance of treats in store in the lead-up, including three MMA battles we believe will be unmissable. Let’s take a closer look at them ahead of this weekend’s showcase.
Shamil Erdogan vs. Gilberto Galvao
In the light-heavyweight division, unbeaten star Shamil Erdogan will make a quick turnaround to move up in weight for a clash with Brazilian juggernaut Gilberto Galvao.
The Turkish terror was last in action at ONE 171: Qatar in February. That night, he brutalized former two-weight king Aung La N Sang with a ferocious head kick to score a KO win in just 28 seconds.
Having left the battle unmarked, Erdogan will now look for a new challenge in the light-heavyweight realm, where he’ll be seeking his fourth stoppage win on the trot in ONE.
However, Galvao will likely make it difficult for the 11-0 star. ONE Fight Night 29 will be his first fight in ONE for over two years, so fans can bet on him being fresh as a daisy and raring to go.
The ONE veteran stayed active during his time away, taking on former kings Aung La N Sang and Reinier de Ridder away for the world’s largest martial arts organisation, so he’ll be well-equipped to tackle the surging Erdogan.
Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu vs. Jeremy Pacatiw
Top-ranked bantamweight duellers will collide when #4-ranked contender Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu meets #5-ranked Jeremy Pacatiw.
Baatarkhuu has impressed in the division and upset the applecart along the way, with wins over Aaron Canarte, Carlo Bumina-ang, and Jhanlo Mark Sangiao to his name.
The Mongolian star knows a victory over Pacatiw would see him assert his positioning further in the stacked bracket, so he’ll be in it to win it in style at ONE Fight Night 29.
For his part, “The Juggernaut” will enter the fray on a two-fight winning streak he’ll look to improve this weekend.
The Filipino star has put consecutive submission wins together, against Tial Thang and Wang Shuo. Baatarkhuu will be the toughest test of his career, so victory will cement him firmly in the World Title conversation.
Banma Duoji vs. Joshua Perreira
In flyweight action, fiery star Banma Duoji will welcome unbeaten talent Joshua Perreira to ONE Championship.
Banma is building a reputation for himself in the promotion despite his hot-and-cold slate. From three outings, the Chinese competitor has only won once – against Walter Goncalves in 2023.
Nonetheless, fans have come to see him as someone who never backs down, which has made him a favourite.
A second win for the 27-year-old would be met with huge cheers inside Lumpinee. But that result is far from guaranteed.
ONE debutant Perreira will throw everything at Banma in order to make a splash in his first outing. And with a 5-0 record, made up of three knockouts and two submissions, the American athlete has more than a few avenues to find the win.
