The UFC makes a long-awaited return to Montreal this weekend, as UFC 315 takes place at Bell Centre with two UFC title fights at the top of the card.
Let’s take a look at the fights making up the main card on Saturday night’s pay-per-view event.
Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena (UFC Welterweight Championship)
Belal Muhammad (24-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) looks to make the first defense of the UFC welterweight title he won with a dominant victory over Leon Edwards at UFC 304 in Manchester, England, last July. “Remember The Name” will face Jack Della Maddalena (17-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in a five-round main event this Saturday.
Muhammad is riding an 11-fight unbeaten streak and hasn’t lost since a decision defeat to Geoff Neal in Brooklyn back in 2019.
Della Maddalena enters the weekend on a 17-fight winning streak. The Australian dropped the first two bouts of his professional career but hasn’t tasted defeat since 2016.
Fourteen of Della Maddalena’s 17 career wins have come by stoppage, including five of seven in the UFC. Meanwhile, Muhammad has secured 12 of his 15 UFC wins by decision.
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot (UFC Flyweight Championship)
Valentina Shevchenko (24-4-1 MMA, 13-3-1 UFC) will seek a record tenth flyweight title fight victory in this weekend’s co-main event, as she takes on French striking sensation Manon Fiorot (12-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC). This will be Shevchenko’s first appearance since reclaiming her belt by outpointing Alexa Grasso at UFC 306 last September.
With nine victories in UFC women’s championship fights, Shevchenko is fast closing in on Amanda Nunes’s all-time record of 11.
Standing across the Octagon from “Bullet” this Saturday will be Manon Fiorot, who holds the longest active winning streak in the division at seven. “The Beast” returns to action for the first time since defeating Erin Blanchfield in March 2024.
José Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi (Bantamweight)
Former WEC and UFC lightweight champion José Aldo looks to return to the win column when he faces hometown favorite Aiemann Zahabi this Saturday.
Aldo (32-9 MMA, 14-8 UFC) has gone 4-4 since moving down to 135 pounds in 2019, and 1-1 since ending his two-year retirement early last year. The Brazilian returned with a win over Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301 in May, but dropped a split decision to Mario Bautista in Salt Lake City last October.
Montreal native Zahabi (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will be seeking his sixth straight victory this weekend—against arguably the most notable opponent of his UFC career.
Alexa Grasso vs. Natália Silva (Flyweight)
Alexa Grasso returns to the Octagon at UFC 315, eager to get back on track after losing her UFC flyweight title to Valentina Shevchenko at the Sphere last September.
Grasso (16-4-1 MMA, 8-4-1 UFC) is coming off the only women’s trilogy in UFC history and will face an opponent not named Shevchenko for the first time since 2022.
She draws a tough assignment in Natália Silva (18-5-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC), who enters on an impressive 12-fight winning streak. The Brazilian standout has shined in her UFC run so far, earning two Performance of the Night bonuses in just six appearances.
Benoit Saint-Denis vs. Kyle Prepolec (Lightweight)
It looked like Benoit Saint-Denis (13-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) might miss out on the chance to compete in front of Canadian fans this weekend after his original opponent, Joel Alvarez, withdrew due to injury. But Windsor, Ontario native Kyle Prepolec (18-8 MMA, 0-2 UFC) stepped up to return to the Octagon for the first time since 2019.
Saint-Denis enjoyed a dominant run at lightweight between 2022 and 2023, racking up five straight wins after dropping down from welterweight. However, his momentum was halted by a knockout loss to Dustin Poirier early last year, followed by a defeat to Renato Moicano in Paris last September—marking the first losing streak of his career.
Prepolec made two UFC appearances in 2019, dropping decisions to Nordine Taleb and Austin Hubbard.
