One of OKTAGON MMA’s most polarizing figures is stepping back into the spotlight this fall.

Irish lightweight Denis Frimpong (6-2) is set to face off with rising Czech talent Peter Gabal (7-3) at OKTAGON 76, taking place on Saturday, September 20 at Festhalle Frankfurt in Germany. The bout comes after weeks of back-and-forth barbs between the two fighters, who both scored emphatic finishes at the same event earlier this year. Now, the war of words will come to a head inside the cage.

Frimpong, known for his trash talk and aggressive style, has made waves since re-signing with the promotion earlier in 2024. The Manchester Top Team representative earned a dominant decision win over Robin Frank before settling a grudge match with a brutal knockout of Arijan Topallaj. Now firmly positioned in the top 10 of the lightweight division, “The Menace” sees this next bout as another step toward title contention.

But Peter Gabal has plans of his own. A former IMMAF amateur standout, Gabal has looked better than ever in recent outings. He capped off 2024 with a clean sweep over Benny Bajrami and followed that performance with an impressive TKO of Elias Jakobi at OKTAGON 71—his most high-profile win to date. Gabal’s technical striking and unrelenting pace have made him a threat to anyone in the weight class.

With both men looking to break into the top of the division, the matchup is expected to deliver fireworks. Frimpong will look to back up his talk with another statement finish, while Gabal aims to prove that his rise is no fluke.

OKTAGON 76 will also shine a spotlight on several key German fighters. Among those scheduled to compete are Lom-Ali Eskiev, heavyweight bruiser Patrick Vespaziani, and fast-rising women’s standout Alina Dalaslan. UFC alum Alan Omer, young prospect Fedor Duric, and Tamerlan Dulatov—brother of Islam Dulatov—are also expected to feature on the card.

With a stacked lineup and a high-stakes main card, OKTAGON 76 is shaping up to be one of the promotion’s most exciting events of the year.
