A winner takes all showdown between two of OKTAGON’s sharpest strikers is headed to Ostrava, Czech Republic, as the welterweight championship finds new ownership.
Former lightweight champion Ronald Paradeiser (23–9) will square off with explosive finisher Kaik Brito (18–6) at OKTAGON 84 on Saturday, February 14. With the 170-pound title currently vacant, the winner will leave Ostravar Arena as the new king of the welterweight division. The matchup is a marquee addition to the organization’s strong early-2026 European slate.
After an impressive lightweight title run that included victories over Ivan Buchinger, Attila Korkmaz, and Daniel Torres, Paradeiser elected to move to welterweight earlier this year. The transition could not have gone better. He halted Bojan Veličković in the opening round of his divisional debut and followed it with a decisive finish of former LFA champion Geraldo Neto in November. With his longtime teammate and friend Ion Surdu no longer holding the crown, Paradeiser sees a clear path to becoming a two-division titleholder and solidifying his place among Europe’s elite.
Brito, meanwhile, is best known as the man who ended David Kozma’s remarkable four-year championship reign in 2022, stopping the “Pink Panther” after a dominant three-round showing. The Brazilian boasts a frightening 100 percent finish rate and can end a fight without warning, something he displayed again by dispatching Joilton Lutterbach in under two minutes in his latest appearance. He will not have the crowd on his side in Ostrava, but Brito is focused on reclaiming OKTAGON gold.
The event will also feature a second title bout as Igor Severino meets Khurshed Kakhorov for the vacant bantamweight championship. In addition, former welterweight ruler David Kozma returns to launch a new chapter in his career, and Tomáš Mudroch faces Fedor Duric in a compelling matchup between rising prospects. Additional bouts will be announced in the weeks ahead.
