ONE Championship has matched Filipino flyweight Jeremy Miado against South African Willie van Rooyen in a flyweight contest scheduled for ONE Fight Night 41 on March 13 from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event broadcasts live in U.S. primetime on Amazon Prime Video.
Both fighters arrive following recent losses. Miado dropped a finish to Avazbek Kholmirzaev at ONE Fight Night 38 this past December, while Van Rooyen suffered a submission defeat to the same opponent in his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 37 in November. The matchup offers each man an opportunity to correct course within the deep flyweight division.
The 33-year-old Miado has competed across strawweight and flyweight throughout his ONE tenure, accumulating seven victories with six coming by knockout. His finish rate includes notable wins over former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke and Danial Williams.
A four-fight stoppage streak once positioned Miado near title contention before consecutive setbacks interrupted his momentum. He returned with a decision victory over Gilbert Nakatani at ONE Fight Night 28 before the recent loss to Kholmirzaev.
Van Rooyen, on the other hand, brings a strong African pedigree as a two-time EFC Flyweight Champion who entered ONE with a perfect 7-0 record featuring five finishes. The 23-year-old's arsenal includes heavy hands, sharp elbows, and capable ground strikes, though his unbeaten record ended against Kholmirzaev in his first ONE appearance.
The contest joins a growing ONE Fight Night 41 card that already features a ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Title defense and a lightweight Muay Thai matchup between former world title challengers. The event continues ONE's monthly series of primetime broadcasts on Amazon Prime Video for North American audiences.
