The fights just keep coming. Hot on the heels of UFC 326 last Saturday, the action moves just five and a half miles across town to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas for a fight card headlined by a classic prospect-versus-veteran matchup in the featherweight division.
Let’s pick out the five best fights to watch at UFC Vegas 114 this Saturday night.
Josh Emmett (#11) vs. Kevin Vallejos (#14) – Featherweight
Josh Emmett (19-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC), the man with the most knockdowns landed in UFC featherweight history (12), returns to action in this weekend’s main event when he takes on rising Argentine star Kevin Vallejos (17-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC).
Emmett has struggled of late, losing four of his last five outings, albeit against some of the featherweight division’s finest competition.
Vallejos enters Saturday’s bout at a far less seasoned stage in his development than some of Emmett’s recent opponents (Ilia Topuria, Yair Rodriguez, and Lerone Murphy, for example), and a win over a seasoned pro like Emmett would be the perfect next step in the 24-year-old’s development. After going 3-0 during his debut year on the UFC roster in 2025, “El Chino” has drawn comparisons to a young Ilia Topuria.
At 41 and 24 years old respectively, this weekend's main event will see the largest ever age gap in a UFC headline matchup.
Ion Cutelaba vs. Oumar Sy – Light Heavyweight
Oumar Sy (12-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) made a massive statement on home soil last September when he knocked out Brendson Ribeiro in the opening round at UFC Paris—the eighth first-round stoppage victory of his career.
He faces a big step up in competition this weekend when he takes on Ion Cutelaba (19-11-1 MMA, 8-10-1 UFC), who will be making his twentieth walk to the Octagon.
“The Hulk” is no stranger to first-round knockout victories either, having dispatched Tanner Boser and Ibo Aslan in quick fashion in recent fights.
Charles Johnson (#14) vs. Bruno Silva (#15) – Flyweight
With knockout wins over Joshua Van and Lone’er Kavanagh in the last two years, Charles Johnson (18-8 MMA, 7-6 UFC) has proven he can be as dangerous as anyone in the UFC flyweight division on his day.
“InnerG” had his eye on replacing Asu Almabayev as Brandon Moreno’s opponent at UFC Mexico last month, but after that opportunity went to Kavanagh instead, Johnson now steps in to replace the young Englishman on this week’s card.
Bruno Silva (15-7-2 MMA, 5-4 UFC) has also carved out a reputation as one of the most exciting fighters at 125 pounds, with all five of his UFC wins coming by stoppage.
Chris Curtis vs. Myktybek Orolbai – Welterweight
After picking up a win over Max Griffin in his welterweight debut last July, Chris Curtis (32-12 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will look to build momentum at 170 pounds when he faces the always-exciting Myktybek Orolbai (15-2-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) this weekend.
Orolbai has picked up early stoppage wins in his last two fights against Tofiq Musayev and Jack Hermansson and may feel the welterweight top 15 could be within reach if he repeats that feat against “Action Man” on Saturday.
Bolaji Oki vs. Manoel Sousa – Lightweight
Former Bellator and PFL standout Manoel Sousa (13-1) makes his Octagon debut this weekend after punching his ticket to the UFC with a win on Dana White’s Contender Series last August.
Standing across from “Manumito” on Saturday will be the exciting Belgian Bolaji Oki (10-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC), who came out on the wrong end of a scintillating war against Mason Jones at UFC Paris last September.
