OKTAGON's debut event in Germany’s capital – Berlin – has another exciting addition.

Irish talent, Denis Frimpong (8-3), will welcome former title challenger, Niko Samsonidse (12-4), to the lightweight division at OKTAGON 90 on Saturday, June 20. Uber Arena will host this momentous show that promises to be one of the highlights on the schedule this year.

Frimpong has spent the majority of his professional career in the promotion and the improvements in his all-round game over the last twelve months have been undeniable. ‘The Menace’ earned stoppage victories over Arijan Topallaj and Peter Gabal before Gökhan Aksu temporarily halted his momentum. However, he got back in the win column last month when he scored a unanimous decision over Tomáš Cigánik and is now ready to make another run towards the championship conversation.

Samsonidse has competed for the featherweight belt twice but came up short on both of those occasions to elite-level athletes, Losene Keita and Mago Machaev. The weight cut was starting to take its toll on his body and ‘One Love’ believed it was hindering his performances in the cage which prompted this move up to lightweight. The Berlin native will have the home crowd behind him as he starts a new chapter in his career, hoping to enter the rankings right away.

Elsewhere on the card, double champion, Will Fleury, will defend his heavyweight belt against Kasim Aras and rising European MMA superstar, Alina Dalaslan, is also set to compete. Furthermore, Niklas Stolze faces Tyrone Pfeifer and Attila Korkmaz takes on Dawid Śmiełowski.
