The first fight for one of the biggest MMA events of all time is official and features our huge, new signing.
Top European prospect, Fedor Duric (9-1), will face his toughest test to date in the form of UFC veteran, Marc Diakiese (18-8), in a lightweight contest at OKTAGON 94. Deutsche Bank Park football stadium – home of Eintracht Frankfurt – will host the spectacular event on Saturday, September 26, which will have an anticipated 60,000 fans in attendance. The show also marks the German leg of our ten-year anniversary celebrations on a night that will go down in history for the sport.
Duric has skyrocketed up the ranks since joining the promotion in late 2024 and has left many speculating that he can reach the very highest level of mixed martial arts. His only career loss came to former SBC champion, Predrag Bogdanović, in a controversial split decision, where many thought he should have received the nod from the judges. In his last two outings, the 21-year-old has finished Petru Buzdugan and Tomáš Mudroch in utterly dominant fashion which has earned him this massive opportunity in front of his German fans. If he can deliver the victory in Frankfurt, his hype train will gain even more momentum.
Diakiese arrives in OKTAGON as one of the most accomplished British lightweights of his generation, having captured the BAMMA championship and successfully defending it twice. ‘Bonecrusher’ then moved to the UFC and across a seven-year run, he competed against elite international opposition, securing notable victories and establishing himself as a proven performer at the pinnacle of the sport. Diakiese sets foot in the organisation knowing that Duric hasn’t faced anyone on his level before and wants to make his own run at the belt.
Elsewhere on the card, ‘The King of Germany’ and one of the biggest stars in European MMA, Christian Eckerlin, is slated to compete. Furthermore, another Frankfurt hero, Max Coga, will make his anticipated return to action following a two-year hiatus from the sport.
