Cody Garbrandt has appeared to dismiss immediate retirement speculation following his knockout loss to Adrian Yanez at UFC 329.

The former UFC bantamweight champion suffered the sixth stoppage defeat of his career on Saturday night, extending his record to 4-8 since capturing the 135-pound title with his memorable victory over Dominick Cruz in 2016.

Questions about Garbrandt's future surfaced after the 34-year-old removed his gloves while leaving the Octagon following the defeat, a gesture that has often been associated with retirement in mixed martial arts.

However, a post shared on Garbrandt's Instagram account on Tuesday suggests that "No Love" may not be ready to walk away from the sport just yet.

“There are moments in life when hope fades, and the weight of endless problems makes the path unclear,” Garbrandt wrote. “But remember this — you only lose when you choose to give up.

“Let your struggles be your fuel, not your downfall.

“Don’t let the storm break you; let it strengthen your will to rise and keep fighting.”

While Garbrandt did not directly address his fighting future, the message appears to indicate that the former champion remains motivated despite another setback in his career.

Whether the veteran intends to continue competing has yet to be officially confirmed, but his latest comments suggest retirement may not be imminent.
