It’ll be legend vs. legend when the biggest name in German MMA goes against the best welterweight the Czech Republic has ever produced in Deutsche Bank Park football stadium!
‘The King of Germany’, Christian Eckerlin (18-8, 1NC), locks horns with former champion, David Kozma (34-15), at OKTAGON 94 in front of 60,000 fans. Only one flag can fly over the home of Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, September 26 as these heroes meet for national pride. The event also marks the German leg of our ten-year anniversary celebrations which have been ongoing across the summer.
Eckerlin is one of the biggest stars in European MMA as shown by his massive fan base and the consistently sold-out arenas whenever he is on the card. In his most recent outing, he overcame Matouš Kohout to re-enter the win column after adapting his preparation for bouts by training with Team Ilbay. Eckerlin headlined our first event in Deutsche Bank Park two years ago where he defeated Christian Jungwirth and is now in search of another huge win in Frankfurt to add to his legacy.
Kozma is one of the most decorated champions in OKTAGON history having previously defended the welterweight title five times. After going on a three-fight slump, ‘Pink Panther’ moved gyms to Reinders MMA and now looks back to his former self, having earnt victories over Jozef Wittner and David Zawada this year. He still has another title run in his sights but knows that first, he must go into enemy territory and conquer Frankfurt for Czechia.
Elsewhere on the card, viral star, Frederic Vosgröne, takes on the man known as ‘The Terminator’, Karlos Vémola, as part of the OKTAGON Celebrity Series. Frankfurt native, Max Coga, squares off with German warrior, Christian Jungwirth, and rising prospect, Fedor Duric, meets UFC veteran, Marc Diakiese, in an intriguing battle.
