The UFC 307 press conference helped to set the stage for Saturday night's action at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
Unsurprisingly, there was some drama between the four women's bantamweight fighters that were on stage ahead of a huge night for the division.
Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree, who meet in the main event, were both respectful towards their opponent as you would expect given the narrative of this particular fight.
It's clear that "Poatan" is the star of the show but as fans have come to expect, he oozed star quality whilst saying very little, aside from the occasional customary "Chama".
The co-main event already had some tension going into it because of the past encounters between the champion Raquel Pennington and her opponent Julianna Peña.
They first met back on The Ultimate Fighter where they got underneath each other's skin whilst sharing a room with one another.
At the press conference, Peña made reference to her being a better example for the division and how she was having to sell the fight by herself after labelling Pennington as boring.
The champion responded by referencing how Peña had accused her of being a drunk during their time in the TUF house, asking how it will feel to get beaten by a drunk on Saturday night.
Kayla Harrison was always going to have something to say at this table after believing that she is the uncrowned champion of the division.
She shared some words with her opponent Ketlen Vieira but saved plenty of energy for the two women that she could be facing next if she gets past Vieira.
“First I smash Ketlen, then I come for my title … so enjoy it while you can ladies.”
Peña and Harrison went back-and-forth with the former champion stating that Harrison, who debuted at UFC 300, "just got here."
The former PFL star's response was pointing out how Peña has been inactive for several periods in her career.
“You started your career in 2009, and you’re 10-5. I started in 2018 and am 17-1.”
“It’s easy to be 17-1 when you’re fighting tomato cans," Peña responded.
Harrison also took some flak from her upcoming opponent who said that she had skipped the line to be in a title eliminator after just one win inside the Octagon.
The former two-time Olympic gold medallist closed out proceedings with the following statement.
"Listen, this is the difference between me and all of these girls. I come here and they complain, 'Oh, she skipped the line, she's on steroids, it's not fair, she doesn't do this, shouldn't do that.' But if this was my division and I was the champion, I'd say 'come the f*** over and I'll show you who is champion'."
