A new era for the welterweight division will begin in Munich on Saturday, October 31!
Georgian phenom, Amiran Gogoladze (18-3), will take on submission expert, Felix Klinkhammer (11-0), for the vacant belt inside SAP Garden at OKTAGON 96. The title was left without an owner after previous champion, Kaik Brito, moved on from the promotion last month but now these two predators are heading to Germany to claim gold!
Since arriving in the organisation, Gogoladze has put together an unblemished record, earning four consecutive victories over respected opposition, including former UFC competitor, Leandro ‘Apollo’ Silva. His breakout moment, however, came in Poland back in April, where he stunned everyone by stopping former champion, Ion Surdu, with an incredible first-round knockout. The emphatic finish cemented his status as one of the promotion's brightest talents and 'The Sniper' is determined to deliver an even more dominant performance when he returns in October.
Klinkhammer is the former ARES champion and he still hasn’t experienced defeat during his professional career. In his promotional debut, he submitted previous title challenger, Máté Kertész, in the very first round to make an immediate statement to the division. The London Shootfighters product has earned 73% of his victories by submission including heel hooks, knee bars and a whole range of chokes, so his adversary will be in danger whenever the contest hits the mat.
SAP Garden is one of the most state-of-the-art arenas in Europe and with this event also taking place on Halloween night, fans can expect a loaded lineup to enjoy.
