Cage Warriors 176 have received its two first official bouts, with two Scotsman set to return to the Braehead Arena on September 7.

After an extended period of time away from Scotland, Cage Warriors made their welcome return earlier this year to huge success. Ahead of their return, the promotion have announced their first two contests for the card.

Chris ‘The Bad Guy’ Bungard will get the chance to perform in front a home crowd for the second time in as many fights when he faces Artūrs Leisāns in a Lightweight bout.

The stars had appeared to align for Bungard, when he was given the coveted main event slot of Cage Warriors’ long awaited return to Scotland at Cage Warriors 171. Unfortunately for ‘The Bad Guy’, Dumitru Girlean had other ideas and submitted Bungard in the second round of their bout.

Leisāns’ promotional debut had a lot of eyes on it, when he faced American Chasen Blair at Cage Warriors 172. The Latvian found himself on the wrong side of a first round arm bar submission so is still searching for his first win under the Cage Warriors lights. He will be hoping he can follow in the footsteps of Girlean and cause another upset for the hometown hero, Bungard.

In a bout that has the serious potential to be fight of the night, Keir Harvie will face Rory Evans in a Bantamweight clash. Neither man is a stranger to a war inside the cage there’s a strong possibility that the fans inside the Braehead arena will witness another when the two meet.

After becoming the first man to stop Manny Akpan, at Cage Warriors 123, Harvie spent the next three years competing on the road before returning to Cage Warriors early in 2024. In his first fight back in the yellow gloves, the 26-year-old faced Kaique Modesto and defeated the Brazilian with a unanimous decision.

Rory Evans has been a regular feature on Cage Warriors cards for the last five years. After a surging start to his Cage Warriors career, racking up three wins in as many bouts, Evans then found himself picking up back to back losses against Liam Gittins and Jack Eglin. Since then, he has went 2-1 in his last three, most recently defeating Taka Mhandu at Cage Warriors 170.

Although only two fights have been officially announced, there have been a plethora of Scottish athletes already confirmed for the card. Former Cage Warriors Bantamweight championship challenger Reece McEwan will look to put an end to his two fight skid, one of the of the biggest prospects coming out of the UK, Sean Clancy Jr. is also back in action as he climbs through the Welterweight rankings. Also confirmed for the card are the Scottish Hit Squad trio, Jordan Stronge, Michael Blair and Igor Wojtas.
