Before UFC 308 goes down this weekend at the Etihad Arena, it's UAE Warriors that are set to host an event in Abu Dhabi first.

UAE Warriors 55 goes down on October 22 at the ADNEC Exhibition Center with two title fights topping the card.

In the main event, welterweight champion Tahir Abdullaev will look to defend the belt for the first time when he faces the undefeated Khotam Boynazarov.

After a brief break that saw him record wins in two other promotions, Abdullaev returned to UAE Warriors last time out and stopped Shakban Alkhasov to win the title.

His first challenger, Boynazarov, can look to earn the biggest win of his career by maintaining his undefeated record to claim the 170-pound gold.

In the co-main event, Australia's Jacinta Austin and Chile's Valentina Escobar will battle it out to become the promotion's inaugural strawweight champion.

Escobar comes in with an undefeated record of 6-0 following three wins on Combate Global and a debut submission victory in UAE Warriors last time out.

Her opponent, the well travelled Austin, has already began to turn heads with her striking style and strength of schedule so securing another belt could set her up for big things in the near future.

The card was originally set to feature a bout between Carlos Leal and Erkin Darmenov until Leal was announced to be receiving a late notice UFC debut against Rinat Fakhretdinov this Saturday.

Former champion Bruno Azeredo is also back in the lightweight division to take on ex-UFC fighter Eduardo Garagorri in a pivotal match-up at 155-pounds.

The action is set to kick off on UFC Fight Pass from 4pm today, October 22.
