UAE Warriors 55 kicked off a big week of MMA action in Abu Dhabi yesterday with two title fights taking place at the ADNEC Exhibition Center.

In the main event of the evening, the undefeated Khotam Boynazarov totally dominated Tahir Abdullaev to become the new welterweight champion.

Unanimous scores of 50-42 saw the Uzbekistan-born contender rise to 10-0 with a win that is going to put him on the radar in a big way.

In the co-main event, Jacinta Austin became the promotion's inaugural strawweight champion by defeating Valentina Escobar via a split decision.

The Aussie's striking proved to be the difference and despite some very mixed scorecards, she won convincingly in the eyes of two of the judges.

Former champion Bruno Azeredo returned to the promotion with a second round finish over former UFC fighter Eduardo Garagorri.

The former lightweight champion had been out of action since his title successful title defence against Yun Jae Jung in February of last year.

41-year old veteran Rodrigo Cavalheiro pulled off a devastating one-punch finish over Erkin Darmenov after replacing his own fighter, Carlos Leal, on short notice after Leal got a call-up to fight at UFC 308 this weekend.

The most notable finish of the night came from Ali Iskender Aliev who ended his fight against Magomedrasul Khakhulmagomedov in just 45 seconds, landing a flying knee on the undefeated fighter.

Fight week in Abu Dhabi continues with UFC 308 coming up this Saturday night at the Etihad Arena.
