OKTAGON are counting down the days until the promotion's final event of 2024 which is set to be one of their best cards to date.
OKTAGON 64 on December 29 at the O2 Arena in Prague features some incredible fights and the co-main event of the evening is no different.
With one eye on retirement, Czech icon and light heavyweight champion Karlos Vémola is back to defend his belt against the newest and loudest contender in the division, Ireland's Will Fleury.
Fleury has been calling for this fight since he arrived in OKTAGON and following his incredible performance in Frankfurt where he stopped Pavol Langer in just over 90 seconds, he has got his wish.
In a video put out by the promotion, the two men recently sat across from one another for a face-to-face interview with commentator Luke Barnatt.
Frankly, the entire near 25-minute conversation is worth watching in full and though they both have different ideas about how this fight will go, it's clear that there is a fair amount of respect between them even as they trade funny and scathing comments.
For Vémola, he says that this fight is about pride and proving once and for all that he never has and never will turn down any opponent.
The champion believes that Fleury will become reach the top once he is gone but for now, this fight has come too early for the challenger and he will not survive in the deep waters.
Fleury has no intention to reach said deep waters and is incredibly confident that he will be able to stop the 45-fight veteran early on whilst the fight stays standing.
This contest is also about pride for the challenger who is seeking validation after believing that for a long time, he hasn't received the credit that his hard work and talent deserve.
Fleury thinks that coming into OKTAGON and knocking out the top guy in front of his home fans in Prague will finally see him get that long overdue recognition.
