In an unexpected partnership, former UFC middleweight champions Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker have recently put the past behind them to link up.

The former opponents who met twice inside the Octagon recently got together to breakdown this weekend's UFC 311 card after getting some training in.

For Adesanya's first breakdown of 2025 on his FREESTYLEBENDER channel, it's a wholesome one to begin with after he starts the video by referring to Whittaker as his best friend as they speak about how them training together came about.

Kicking things off by talking about the first fight on the main card, both Whittaker and Adesanya picked Kevin Holland to defeat Reinier de Ridder after talking about Holland's place in the middleweight division.

They were split on the second pick as "The Reaper" sided with Beneil Dariush to get back in the win column, after admitting he is somewhat biased towards his friend, with Adesanya backing Renato Moicano to continue his winning streak.

"The Last Stylebender" didn't give an official pick for the light heavyweight clash between Jiří Procházka and Jamahal Hill due to him being friends with both men.

Whittaker, on the other hand, said that whilst he expects Hill to the favourite due to his power and the damage that Procházka has been known to take but he is hoping that the Czech fighter will bounce back with a big win.

Both former titleholders agreed that Merab Dvalishvili will defend his bantamweight title against Umar Nurmagomedov.

As well as being big fans of the current champion, they both had questions surrounding the cardio of the challenger and how well he will be able to utilise his striking against such a dominant grappler.

The former champs went the same way on the main event also by predicting a second "And Still" on Saturday night at the Intuit Dome.

They agreed that whilst Arman Tsarukyan is a dangerous challenger, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is a step ahead across the board.
