Some controversy in the build-up to OKTAGON 64 last month has left the promotion without a heavyweight champion but that won't stay the same for long.
At OKTAGON 68 on March 8 in Stuttgart, Germany, light heavyweight champion Will Fleury and former title challenger Lazar Todev will fight for the vacant belt.
The title formerly belonged to Germany's Hatef Moeil who defeated Todev in a divisive outcome in November of 2023 to become the champion.
A rematch was set to take place in München this past December but after Moeil withdrew from the fight, OKTAGON parted ways with him and stripped him of the title.
Bulgaria's Todev will now look to finally get his hands on the gold after rebounded from his loss to Moeil with back-to-back finishes.
Having come so close once in the past, "The Punisher" will not let this opportunity slip through his fingers for a second time.
However, in order to win the vacant title, he will need to halt the momentum of one of the most in-form competitors in the promotion right now.
Ireland's Will Fleury has been on a tear since he arrived in OKTAGON and on March 8, he has the opportunity to produce one of the most remarkable years in the history of the promotion.
Fleury debuted in April last year and after submitting Daniel Škvor, he cemented his status as the top contender in the light heavyweight division by making quick work of Pavol Langer in October.
The 35-year old secured the biggest win of his career last month when he dominated Karlos Vémola over five rounds to dethrone the champion at the O2 Arena in Prague.
Fleury is now gunning for a second belt and thus far, no one in OKTAGON has been able to stop him from getting his hand raised.
Only one man can leave Stuttgart with the heavyweight gold.
