A slate of hungry MMA contenders made major moves in their respective divisions during the undercard of ONE Fight Night 34: Eersel vs. Jarvis.
With title aspirations on the line, fighters from across the MMA and Muay Thai worlds stepped into the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, delivering highlight-reel moments and critical wins that could alter the championship landscape.
Among the breakout performances, Elbek Alyshov turned in a flawless promotional debut. The undefeated Russian-Azerbaijani bantamweight showcased both skill and composure as he submitted #5-ranked Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw in the second round. Alyshov, now 9-0 with an impressive finishing rate, dominated the opening frame with relentless grappling pressure before securing a slick arm-triangle choke just over a minute into round two. With that victory, he may have positioned himself as the division’s newest top-five threat.
Elsewhere on the card, Shamil “The Cobra” Gasanov earned a measure of redemption, avenging the lone loss of his professional career. The #3-ranked featherweight went to war with American submission ace Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon, grinding out a hard-fought unanimous decision over three rounds. The victory cements Gasanov’s status as a legitimate contender in the stacked featherweight division.
In heavyweight action, former ONE Interim Title challenger Kirill Grishenko got back in the win column in a surprising fashion. Known primarily for his wrestling, the Belarusian opted to engage on the feet against unbeaten Canadian brawler Ben “Vanilla Thunder” Tynan. The two traded heavy shots for all three rounds, but it was Grishenko who impressed the judges with his striking and composure, walking away with a unanimous decision win—and potentially another step closer to title contention.
