A mouth-watering welterweight championship collision is heading to Brno.
Brazilian knockout artist, Kaik Brito (19-6), will put his gold on the line against Georgian phenom, Amiran Gogoladze (18-3), on Saturday, September 12, inside Winning Group Arena. This confirmed matchup for OKTAGON 93 sees Brito’s first defence of the belt in his second reign as title holder as he looks to stamp his authority on the division opposite a very dangerous challenger.
Brito first raised the strap when he dominated and finished OKTAGON legend, David Kozma, back in November of 2022. He never lost that gold inside the cage due to spending some time away from the promotion to compete in Dana White’s Contender Series. In his last outing at OKTAGON 84, he stopped Ronald Paradeiser by third round spinning backfist knockout to claim the then-vacant championship, reminding everyone of just how lethal he can be.
Gogoladze is undefeated in the organisation and has overcome notable names in his four-fight tenure including UFC veteran, Leandro ‘Apollo’ Silva. However, his most spectacular performance yet came in Poland two weeks ago when he blasted through former champion, Ion Surdu, with a devastating first round knockout. It was the moment when fans and media alike realised his true potential and the 28-year-old now vows to look even more impressive in September.
Brno native and huge fan favourite, Andrej Kalašnik, has also been confirmed for the OKTAGON 93 lineup with his opponent set to be revealed over the coming weeks.
