Sean Brady still has unfinished business on his mind when it comes to Belal Muhammad.
The Philadelphia native (19-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) suffered the first loss of his professional career against Muhammad (24-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) in October 2022, when he was stopped in the second round at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi. Since then, Brady has bounced back in impressive fashion, winning four of his last five fights and reestablishing himself as a contender in the UFC welterweight division.
Fresh off a dominant victory over Joaquin Buckley at UFC 328 in Newark, Brady revealed this week that he is closely watching Muhammad’s upcoming matchup against Gabriel Bonfim at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on June 6.
Speaking during an interview with the UFC social media team, Brady admitted that a rematch with Muhammad is the fight he wants most.
“You know, you got Belal Muhammad fighting Gabriel Bonfim,” Brady said. “I'm hoping Belal wins that, and then maybe me and him. I think now that fight kind of makes perfect sense for me to get that rematch, you know? That's the one I want the most.”
When asked directly whether he wanted to run the fight back with Muhammad, Brady did not hesitate.
“100%,” Brady said. “And I like Belal. Belal, he's a great fighter, but that's just one, like, as a competitor, I just want to get that one back.”
Muhammad handed Brady the only stoppage loss of his career to date. With both welterweights continuing to climb near the top of the division, Brady appears eager for the opportunity to settle the score.
