Cage Warriors is set to return to Italy this Saturday for Cage Warriors 179 where the some of the top names from the region will be in action.

Italian MMA has seen a remarkable rise through the growing presence on Cage Warriors' shows and this, like all of their previous visits, is an example of that.

Headlining the PalaPellicone in Rome is a catchweight bout between Italy's own Stefano Paterno and Brazil's Jorge Bueno.

The former champion Paterno has won back-to-back fights since returning to the promotion earlier this year, stopping Scottie Stockman and Olli Santalahti.

He now faces fight finisher Bueno who previously put on the yellow gloves to face Will Currie in July last year.

Simone Patrizi is back to face Greece's Konstantinos Ntelis in his second fight of the year after rebounding with a stoppage win last time out.

His opponent, Ntelis, will be looking for his first win in the promotion after being submitted by Jan Quaeyhaegens in April.

Khadim Dia vs Leon Aliu is an all Italian welterweight bout that is sure to pick the energy up on the main card.

One of the most exciting returns to keep an eye on for this card is the third fight of the year for bantamweight contender Alessandro Giordano.

After suffering back-to-back losses in the yellow gloves, he's turned the tables with two highly impressive wins against Sam Kelly and former champion Michele Martignoni who he submitted in the Prize Fighter alternate bout.

He faces Brazil's Rafael Hudson whose record will not do his toughness justice judging by his run of recent activity.

Undefeated Irishman Solomon Simon taking on Walter Cogliandro is another must-watch fight for the main card portion.

Not to mention all the other Italian fighters on this card that are worth keeping tabs on like Michelanglo Lupoli, Luca Borando, Giuseppe Mastrogiacomo, Gianluca Rocca, Giacomo Michelis and Sergio Gavinelli.

All the action kicks off from 3pm on Saturday November 2 via UFC Fight Pass.
