PFL MENA has crowned its first four champions in Riyadh following the finals of the debut season at the 2024 PFL Championships.
Across four championship fights, there were three finishes, two of which came in the first round to set the stage for the main card.
In the first of four, Mohsen Mohammadseifi from Iran became the first lightweight winner of the season format by beating Georges Eid via a unanimous decision at the end of five rounds.
Despite the fight being competitive, two of the judges scored all five rounds for the winner even though Eid had his fair share of moments throughout the contest.
Ali Taleb followed this fight up by becoming the bantamweight champion in under 90 seconds, landing a huge right hand to stop Rachid Haz in devastating fashion, producing one of the highlights of the night
Omar El Dafrawy secured his championship win at welterweight in the second round in a controversial stoppage.
When Mohammad Alaqraa shot for a takedown, El Dafrawy defended the shot and started to land strikes but when the referee jumped in, it was clear that Alaqraa was still very much present in that moment.
Last but not least, Abdullah Al-Qahtani also sealed his tournament win with a right hand that stunned Maraoune Bellagouit towards the end of the first round.
Despite his opponent somehow staying on his feet, several follow up strikes ended the fight to crown Al-Qahtani as the promotion's first PFL MENA featherweight champion.
There was still much more to come from this night with the PFL season championships taking place on the main card.
If the six title fights that end the night produce highlights similar to the PFL MENA segment of the card, there will definitely be plenty of talking points to end the season.
