Australian MMA veteran Reece McLaren has been released from ONE Championship along with four other fighters.

The martial arts organization terminated contracts for McLaren, American Alyse Anderson, Pakistani veteran Ahmed Mujtaba, former champion Alexis Nicolas of France, and Canadian newcomer Cody Jerome.

Each fighter's official profile now displays a "Released" tag on the ONE Championship website, confirming their departure from the promotion.

McLaren's release adds another veteran name to the growing list of fighters cut from the roster in recent months, though specific details weren't immediately available.

Anderson's departure came after struggling to find consistency following her September 2021 debut loss to Itsuki Hirata. Despite defeating India's Asha Roka, the 30-year-old American suffered losses to Stamp Fairtex and Victoria Souza, failing to meet initial expectations.

Mujtaba faced similar challenges despite his status. The 32-year-old Pakistani fighter compiled a 4-5 record in ONE Championship, with his career declining against elite opposition. His final three appearances resulted in losses to Kade Ruotolo, Halil Amir, and Sage Northcutt.

Nicolas's release proved particularly surprising given his former championship credentials. The 27-year-old Frenchman previously held the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship but lost consecutive title defenses against Regian Eersel, costing him both his belt and roster spot.

Jerome's ONE Championship tenure ended quickly after suffering a TKO loss to Luke Lessei in his Muay Thai debut at ONE Fight Night 27. The Canadian was unable to earn a second opportunity following the defeat.

These releases represent the latest chapter in ONE Championship's ongoing roster overhaul. Combined with August's six releases and July's five departures, sixteen fighters have been cut in recent months.
